2011 Official Visitors Guide to Pittsburgh Now Available
100-page guide filled with everything visitors need to know about visiting Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH –The new 2011 Official Visitors Guide to Pittsburgh is here, and it’s better than ever!
The 100-page guide just pops with information on more than 600 attractions, hotels, restaurants, events and more. Highlights include detailed information about Pittsburgh as the birthplace of Pop Culture.
To that end, the artwork of Burton Morris, Pittsburgh native and nationally known artist, is featured throughout the 2011 Official Visitors Guide to Pittsburgh. Morris’ cover art showcases a newly commissioned iconic piece that captures the essence of Pittsburgh through artistic interpretation of the Duquesne Incline and the unique city skyline.
“We are delighted to feature Burton Morris’ unique artwork on the cover of this publication and throughout our 2011 Pop Culture campaign,” said Joe McGrath, president and CEO of VisitPittsburgh. Burton maintains his connections to the region through his parents and the countless “good deeds” he does on behalf of his beloved city.The user-friendly guide features extensive information on fun things to see and do, accommodations, dining and nightlife and shopping. The dining section details the type of cuisine each restaurant serves; the accommodations’ listings provide average room rates; while the shopping section highlights descriptions to guide shoppers. A convenient index makes referencing a breeze. In addition, detailed maps are provided, along with other pertinent transportation information.
“Visitors will easily find everything they need to know about visiting Pittsburgh in this one-of-a-kind guide,” said Mr. McGrath. “The Official Visitors Guide is easy to read and packed with useful information. It features all the components that will make up a great Pittsburgh experience.”
To highlight Pittsburgh’s place in Pop Culture, the guide book also features references to pop culture icons of their time, including Andy Warhol, Lena Horne and Billy Eckstine; as well as Pop icons of today, such as Christina Aguilera and Wiz Khalifa.
