In yet another affirmation of Pittsburgh's ongoing transformation, CNBC has named it the No. 1 city in America for people seeing to relocate.
The news outlet called on Bert Sperling of BestPlaces.net to crunch numbers related to multiple quality-of-life factors, including crime rates, the number of colleges, the health of a city's population, arts venues, and stability.
The ranking of cities at CNBC.com praises Pittsburgh's affordablilty, low crime rate and high-profile sports teams, along with its low unemployment rate, among other qualities.
Following Pittsburgh, other metropolitan areas that ranked in the top five were: Buffalo, N.Y.; Omaha, Neb.; Fort Worth/Arlington, Texas; and Austin, Texas.
