DELTA FOUNDATION OF PITTSBURGH ANNOUNCES KESHA TO HEADLINE

COUNTDOWN TO 2 VOTE EVENT ON NOVEMBER 3

September 18, 2018—Pittsburgh, PA—The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh, the leading non-profit advocacy organization for the LGBT community, is pleased to announce that multi-platinum selling recording artist Kesha will headline their Countdown 2 Vote event on Saturday, November 3 on Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh.  Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 21 at 10 AM at countdown2vote.org

Countdown 2 Vote is a nonpartisan event designed to energize and inspire people to vote on Tuesday, November 6.  “Young voters account for over half of the voting population,” said Gary A. Van Horn, Jr., the Foundation’s President. “Unfortunately not all that can, will vote and Countdown 2 Vote is a chance to educate and remind people that every vote counts.”

“Together we can prove to our leaders and the rest of the world that we will not tolerate challenges to equality and freedom in our country,” said Kesha.

Kesha has had 9 Top 10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100, including four #1 singles at Top 40 Radio - "TiK ToK," "Your Love Is My Drug," "Die Young," and "Timber." When Kesha released her debut album, 'Animal' in 2010, Billboard declared her its Hot 100 Artist and her debut single, "TiK ToK," the #1 Hot 100 Song. It was also the most played song and the world's top-selling track that year. 'Animal' has sold more than 8 million album equivalents worldwide, and Kesha has sold more than 13 million total album equivalents worldwide.

Kesha’s latest album ‘Rainbow,' called "an artistic feat" by Entertainment Weekly and "the best music of her career" by Rolling Stone, marked a new beginning for Kesha. The album earned Kesha her first-ever GRAMMY nominations at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards for "Best Pop Vocal Album" and "Best Pop Solo Performance" for "Praying."

Kesha has been honored with the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award, which is given to high profile individuals who use their platform to advance and advocate for the LGBT movement.  She is an animal rights crusader as the Humane Society International's first Global Ambassador and in 2016, she won Billboard's Women in Music Trailblazer Award.  She headlined Pittsburgh Pride to a sold-out crowd in 2016.

Countdown 2 Vote is sponsored in part by Kiss 95.1. Tickets start at $39.00 and can be ordered at countdown2vote.org or by calling 888-71-TICKETS.  Countdown 2 Vote is a general admission show.  No chairs or outside beverages are permitted.  Under 18 of age is permitted with a parent or guardian over the age of 25.  Proper government ID is required.
