Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today led the graduation ceremony for the City’s first Civic Leadership Academy, a free 10-week course designed to educate residents about how their City’s government operates. Course participants had the opportunity to tell the Mayor what they learned, as well as their plans to continue to be even more engaged and involved citizens. The Mayor concluded the event with the presentation of graduation certificates to the participating residents. Click image to enlarge |

Selected out of approximately 100 applicants, the 19 participants attended weekly sessions focusing on different City departments and the services they provide to make for a safer, more livable City. Sessions were developed by City directors to include tours, hands-on demonstrations, and fun activities to provide an up-close and personal view of how their department helps to operate the City.
