The Pittsburgh Pirates' racing pierogi Cheese Chester is heading to the DL after breaking his foot.

 

 

- Cheese Chester suffered a broken foot while competing in the July 23 Pierogy Race at PNC Park.

Chester was carted off the field after being examined by the Pirates medical staff and later placed on the disabled list. He is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.

Taking Chester's place will be Potato Pete, who has not raced competitively since 2001.
