Troy Polamalu opens healthy fast-food eatery

Steelersdepot.com said that the restaurant in Palo Alto, Calif., has low-sodium as well as vegan and gluten-free items. Polamalu told KRON 4 in San Francisco in an interview that he was looking to find a way to open a restaurant that offered healthy foods and connected with the people from LYFE Kitchen.

Hey everyone,

I’m very excited and pleased to announce my partnership with LYFE Kitchen, a new restaurant in Palo Alto dedicated to serving great tasting, healthy and affordable food to active families. I will be acting as a member of a panel along with several talented and knowledgable individuals to help direct LYFE in the areas of health and wellness.

I’m joined on the panel with 4-time Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans, Dr. Anthony Cardillo and Dr. Armand Dorian, who are emergency room doctors and medical advisors to many in the television and film industry, Dr. David Perlmutter, a board certified neurologist, and Dr. Mark Hyman, who is a leading expert on functional medicine. This panel will be working closely with passionate chefs Art Smith and Tal Ronnen.

I’m incredibly excited to be working with these individuals and LYFE Kitchen. It’s a fast-paced world we live in, which is why fast food is a thriving industry. The problem, though, is that there’s so little nutritional value offered in that space. LYFE Kitchen is aimed at changing that, providing a practical and healthy solution for families looking for a meal during a busy day, as well as providing knowledge to help them continue a healthy lifestyle in their daily lives. I hope that this is just the beginning of more and more people gaining nutritional knowledge, and having better food at reasonable prices available to them. I’m extremely happy to be a part of helping people live well and healthy.
